JONAH SONG

I am a multimedia artist from Central Oregon, specializing in lost wax casting and 3d design for jewelry. I graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in May 2023 with a B.S. in Business Administration and am currently pursuing an M.A. from the Savannah College of Art and Design in jewelry. I fell in love with the jewelry industry while in undergrad, where I operated a small jewelry business out of the Swartz Center of Entrepreneurship using wire-wrapping and assembly techniques with manufactured / prefabricated components.

However, I eventually realized that what I loved was the jewelry aspect, not the business side, and I've been extremely grateful to continue my education at SCAD and learn how to metalsmith myself. My pieces are informed by biomorphic principles - using the body as both the origin of design and destination of wear - and feature flowing lines and organic, cellular shapes. I call these amorphous jewels soul armor, like shining silver shields adorning your ears and knuckles that draw in light and reflect curses.
