ARTIST STATEMENT:
Heirlooms 가보 honors immigrant storytelling through the permanence of stainless steel and the humility of everyday Korean dishware. Lee integrates family archival photos with current work, transferring the images onto dishware sourced from H-Mart in Queens. The photographs were taken in Seoul, Los Angeles, and San Francisco from 1949 to 2024.
