While being in Brooklyn and feeling disconnected to my hometown, screens offer me a reverie from physical distances. I envision the ambiguity and richness of the surface after looking at the screen for hours.
I am interested in creating an ethereal portrait that portrays the screen's current state and its line, shape, and how lights get reflected on the surface, specifically how it affects me and my existence in front of it. I transform what I experience into poetic moments, change their perspectives, ultimately creating new pathways.
Kiln formed glass, layered plexiglass sheet, and spray paint came together and built emotional connections of what I once saw in front of me. The various textures I add to the work create a new experience, sometimes absolutely blurring the original object.
