In the series "Für das nächste Land," I used photographs of piles of mud at a construction site as a starting point for creating accumulations of small images of landscapes (colorized photo transfers). The step from transforming wasteland into – for humans – live-able habitats with the help of heavy machinery is accompanied by accidentally creating fast changing sublime miniature mountain scapes. The title of the work plays with the varied meanings of the German word "Land", which can signify among others: land, soil, territory, ground, country, base.
