ARTIST STATEMENT:
In the process of Solar etching, the sun’s UV rays are used to activate a metal etching plate from which hand prints are made.
In this series called "Wear and Tear and Mending", I am emphasizing, rather than hiding, the damage and look for the beauty in the broken, the wounds, the scars, the passage of time, embracing the flaws and imperfections as a testament of history.
The choice of how to mend is our own.
