ARTIST STATEMENT:
My first career was modern dance, a performance art, which by nature is shared with others. When I began photographing, I vowed that this art was solely for myself. I have been working alone in a darkroom for the last 20 years and, ever since studying with Roy DeCarava, I have focused on making silver gelatin prints.
As time passes and things change, so have my feelings and now I want to share my work with others. Photography has made my walk through life a little slower, more mindful and observant of the transience of daily life in this always evolving world.
