Technology’s presentation of gender and self can aid in the discovery of oneself. With the internet being such a large part of the younger generation's lives they often find themselves being presented with unrealistic standards and societal pressures at the palm of their hand. With some much information, there’s possibly even a harder process of exploring ways to present all while being told you should present another way. Creating a shifting self-image much like elements in everyday reflections can.
My work is an exploration of shifting perceptions of self, an intimate look into life with a mental illness, pressures to fit the right look under the lens of a binary world, and the desire to break away from it all.
